Thrift Makeovers & Giveaway Time!!

Today I'm sharing some upscaled and/or repurposed (my fav!) thrift finds.
This gorgeous toast server was a silver plate thrift score.
I love finding these vintage goodies and seeing my 10 year old actually getting excited learning about them.  We bond over thrifting :)

We painted it with our favorite Heirloom White and voila!  A new life.   Adorable for holding photos, notes, recipe cards, vintage postcards.  I think this would be a sweet way to display holiday cards.  Now I'll be on the lookout for more of these.
I can usually find the beauty in leaving things "as is" but this piece had seen better days.  Add a coat of paint, a gorgeous vintage style photo card and it's shabby sweet!

I am joining up with the lovely Linda over at Coastal Charm for Nifty Thrifty Tuesday and a GIVEAWAY!
Keeping with the theme here, these goodies were thrift finds and given makeovers.
Since chalkboards are all the rage these days, I've been repurposing those MANY thrift frames I come across.  Some plain and some ornate.  Here you have both.  The larger one has gorgeous ornate edging.  Painted white and the glass given a transformation into a sweet little chalkboard.  This piece measures about 8 x 6.
The smaller frame was also painted white.  I added burlap and a vintage style skeleton key for a cute little shelf sitter to add to your decor.

You can read all about the giveaway rules here.

Giveaway ends:  Sunday 9/4 and winner announced 9/5

Hi Roselle,
Hopped over from Nifty Thrifty Tues. Now a new follower. I love the vintage toast holder. I have never seen one before. Now I am going to have to keep my eyes out for one. Thanks for your wonderful give away, and the opportunity to win. I have a give away on my blog which ends tomorrow. If interested check it out on my side bar.

So pretty painted white! Just saw this over at Coastal Charm. You've got a good eye for makeovers, so if you have a moment I'd love you to drop by and give me your thoughts about my rusty iron candelabra...

Roselle, I must start by apologizing to you. You visited me during miracle makeover week. I had a close friend pass away, and did not keep up on my site. Thank you so much for your sweet comments. You also questioned my blue egg cups. I'm sorry I do not have an answer, they are unmarked. I have never seen any others of them, so I don't know.

I have a pink plate with the same design from Homer Laughlin. I think the plate and the egg cup may be related. Not sure though.

Thx again for joining me, and again I apologize for the delay.

I do hope you and all of your loved ones are safe and secure in this crazy weather.

Hope and Hugs to you and your

LL

it's lovely! i bought a similar one with the intent to paint as well. Is it a spray paint you used? Could you share the brand?
Thanks

Hi Roselle, am visiting your blog for the first time and loving it. Am very interested in how you paint your silver items. Do you put a sealer coat over the items first before painting the main colour? Also; do you use a spray paint or brush and do you once again seal over the finished coat?
Thanks in advance..
Kind Regards
Judith
