Vintage Cards

I LOVE vintage cards.  Well, I love almost any vintage paper, but for some reason, vintage cards touch me.  I don't know why.  I even love their yellow, tattered and stained envelopes.   LOL  I have a little gift store I frequent here in town.  It is a little gift shop but the owner also graces the shelves with vintage goodies she finds in her travels.  Whenever I go there, I am sure to go thru her card basket.  She only offers what's in season.

It's fun looking thru the piles and deciding which ones to rescue and take home with me. Maybe my rescued cards can spend some time with my rescued vintage Christmas ornaments! LOL
This one is my favorite.  I love the blues and reds together and of course, the roses.

Sharing some pretties from my shop.  The ornament is a vintage tart mold.  Hubby drilled a hole in it and I threaded a ribbon thru it to hang.  The wall pocket is new but the pretties decorating it are all vintage.  Papers, seam binding, etc.  I've been having lots of fun creating for Valentine's day.  It IS the pink, romantic holiday after all.  Oh and it involves chocolate!

Hi Roselle,
I love vintage anything including cards! The older I get, it seems the more I appreciate these creations of years gone by. Yours are lovely! I too like the blue with the red in it. Happy Pink Saturday.

Blessings,
Sandi

They look so lovely Roselle! I love old, vintage things also and maybe it's because it reminds me of my mom and grandmother, who knows. I have a nice collection of old cards my mother hung onto for years from people now long forgotten but their cards still linger....
Have lovely evening!

Oh what precious vintage cards and I love the pieces you made for your Etsy shop--someone will be lucky to get those!

And the best part about Valentine's Day besides pink and romance is definitely chocolate!!!

OMG, I would love to find a store like that with a little stash of vintage cards, I love them also. I don't do paper crafting....YET! I am OCD except for all of my craft stuff also, I just recently reorganized my fabric closet and donated a large trash bag of fabric, I just can't keep it all. Which brings me back to paper crafting, I don't have room for another craft! LOL

I am a big card buyer as well. I should own a card shop. Over the years I have spent enough to buy one. I enjoyed seeing all your pinks.

Roselle, did you get the pizza off your computer screen? Had to ask cause now I'm laughing harder than with Jane Austen in the kitchen. I don't know what it is about vintage cards either. I think it takes me back to my childhood and the little stains on the envelopes only add to the mystery -- a card like that certainly reached a young couple in love -- Touching. Thanks Terri www.morningdewdrops.typepad.com

It gets very cold here in Idaho also, but not as cold as N.J. I think.

Thanks for your visit and it's nice to meet you, chickee!!!!
